Please check out the photos from August! https://schleye5.wixsite.com/august-2019

I still don't have a domain name picked out. Some ideas: schlongstrong.com, schlongrunacres.com. What do you think I should choose? Any ideas to offer me?

August was full of new starts, as it is for all families, I suppose. Mikela started classes at Pikes Peak Community College, taking Russian, Math of some sort (not a Calc class, let's ease back into this, OK?), and Ceramics (because Art is healthy). This is a light load, but she is also working, and I would prefer she figure out her comfort level than dive in to the deep end. That is a better model for success. Also, Russian is really fucking hard, so I would prefer she have several study groups a week on this than take a heavy course load.

Garrett started a new Montessori pre-school, Sidewalk's End Montessori. It is a very traditional Montessori program. He comes home every day with paint and dirt all over him, which is great. He is also EXHAUSTED. They warned us about this, but I thought, he does pre-school already, he will be fine. I was completely wrong. Instead of being busy, busy, busy, he wants to sit around. And do absolutely nothing. Which is really, really weird. But good.

Dog training continues. Ethos K-9 is great, and wile it is great for Kalit, I love how the same practice is making Leda a better dog as well. The effort is much more of a train the handler to train the dog.

Rob turned 45! He really loves his lathe work. He is turning bowls and cups and glasses and platters constantly. I will admit to being jealous of the time he spends at it, but he does include Garrett, who really enjoys the tools and making things, so I guess I will live with it.

Rob's unfinished work (in various stages of being sealed)

Grandma Jan got a knees replacement! She is recovering well, and can already move better than she did before the replacement! We are looking forward to getting out and doing the things with her that we used to, and getting to see her do the things she enjoys again.

The Garden did well in August, and we moved on from Beans, spinach and broccoli to tomatoes and broccoli. Put up 6 quarts of spaghetti sauce. It's about to get fun! Everything is late this year, though due to the cool weather. the later part of August didn't see much rain, though wildflowers are really lasting and not burning up like they usually do. Personally, my life revolves around work, kids, critters, and gardening.

I hope the school year start is treating you well. And if you don't have anything to do with school, well, I am jealous, and hope to hear how you are enjoying that freedom!

Please check out the little blog I am starting on the Thoughts page. https://schleye5.wixsite.com/mysite

Lame so far. I hope to be cool one day.

All passwords are: lovelong

I know the passwords are frequent and annoying. And the security is not great, but it was requested to be that way, so it is.

Rob's sealed work. Needs to be buffed.
